PROGRAM PDF FORMAT
On October 20 and 21, 2011, within the framework of Migration Week organized by the Instituto Nacional de Migración of Mexico, the Third International Forum on Migration and Peace will be held in Mexico City. Its objective is to continue the process of international networking for the promotion of human dignity and peaceful co-existence as a universal right for all. The Forum brings together representatives of governments and civil society with the purpose of promoting discussion and dialogue on the multifaceted implications of the phenomenon of migration, and to promote the peaceful coexistence of peoples and democracy.
The Third Forum considers how violence impacts on international migration and refugee flows; and how governmental actors (legislators, executives and judges) and civil society actors can define and implement policies and programs to promote security for migrants and refugees crossing international borders as well as develop new civil relationships that allow peaceful coexistence.
The International Forum on Migration and Peace is organized by the Scalabrini International Migration Network (SIMN) in coordination with entities within the countries where the Forum is held. This Third Forum is organized in coordination with the Presidency of Mexico and with the Instituto Nacional de Migración. |
